Spring Home Care: Make This an Annual Tradition

Updated: Jun 7, 2019

Winter is tough on a home. It is especially tough on roofs, chimneys, windows, walls, foundations, gutters and decks. As soon as Spring arrives, my husband and I like to tackle our chores to prepare our home for the warmer months. We do regular inspections to identify problems and fix them quickly. This saves money, time, and makes our home a safe and comfortable place for our family. While the internet is full of Spring checklists, here is a nice concise one from HGTV to help you focus on the most critical items.

When we inspected our home this Spring, we discovered a couple of squirrels who decided to move into our attic. They chewed their way into our home right above the gutters on the backside of the house. Luckily, we found this problem early and the damage was limited. Like most things, finding and addressing issues early saves money and helps keep a home in good condition for the rest of the year.

An annual Spring property inspection makes good sense. Make it a tradition.
